What is Raksha Bandhan?
The rakhi is tied on Shravana Purnima — but the classical rule is precise: the tying must avoid Bhadra (Vishti karana), when the rite is said to turn inauspicious. Years when Bhadra covers the morning push the tying to the afternoon.
