Ram Navami: dates, muhurat and meaning.
The next Ram Navami is on Wednesday, 14 April 2027. The date is computed from the classical panchang for Delhi (rule: classical festival table — tithi prevailing at local noon). Below are the Ram Navami dates for 2026 and 2027, the day's shubh muhurat windows, and what the festival celebrates.
Ram Navami dates
What is Ram Navami?
Ram Navami is the birthday of Maryada Purushottama Rama, seventh avatar of Vishnu, born to Kaushalya and Dasharatha in the madhyahna (midday) muhurat — which is why the day's worship peaks at noon.
Ayodhya's celebrations are the grandest, with the Saryu bathing and vast processions. The day also closes Chaitra Navratri; many perform kanya pujan, feeding nine girls as the nine goddesses.
Muhurat on Ram Navami
Rama's birth muhurat is midday itself, so the Abhijit Muhurat above doubles as the janma-puja window — the rare festival where the universal window and the festival's own coincide.
